Mercure Bangkok Hotel Photography Overview
The day after our resort photoshoot at Andaz Pattaya Jomtien Beach, a Concept by Hyatt, we has a quick one-day hotel photoshoot at Mercure Bangkok Sukhumvit 24, an Accor- branded property in the Sukhumvit area of Bangkok. The property with 210 keys is located only a few steps away from The Emsphere and the Phrom Phong BTS station.
Hotel Photoshoot Overview
Our short, one day shoot included one room category, swimming pool, and lobby. All of these during normal business operations and with the least inconvenience to the hotel guests.

Hotel Photoshoot Takeaways
With our vast experience shooting for the hospitality industry, we know how important it is not to disturb any guest in any way and what times are best to shoot each location to achieve this. The last thing we want is for a guest to leave a one-star review on TripAdvisor because they were unable to take their 7:00 daily swim due to the fact that we had closed the hotel swimming pool for the shoot.
So our only option was to shoot the pool between 6:00 am and 7:00 am – Due to the surrounding buildings and to the direction of the swimming pool, this was not the optimal time for the best lighting conditions. But, as with every hotel photoshoot, we do our best with what we are given.
We had decided that 4:00 am on a Sunday morning was the best time to shoot the lobby, which would normally be the case. However, I have now learned that this time is quite busy in Bangkok, as many people are returning from a very good night out, it would seem.
This is the first time I have had someone who has had a little too much to drink, lie down on a sofa and fall asleep in the shot. We did manage to wake him up, and he was very apologetic as he was helped to his room.
