Interior Design Photography Overview

We carried out the photo shooting over two different phases

The first phase was on the 4-day, Siem Reap to Phnom Penh leg of the Mekong River tour. During this time we captured the luxurious experience, destination photography and lifestyle photos..

The second phase of photo shooting was during the 3-day leg of the luxury river cruise between Phnom Penh and Ho Chi Minh City. Our time here was devoted to capturing all the hospitality images: hotel room photos, interior design photos, and food & beverage photos.

The Images

Photoshoot and Challenges

On the first leg of the luxury Mekong Cruise from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh, Cambodia we met up at the Park Hyatt Siem Reap and then were transported to the Aqua Mekong.  This voyage down the Tonle Sab River through Cambodia is the most Picturesque.

We accompanied the guest on all the excursions, making sure not to disturb any of the guests at all.  We were also extremely careful that we did not include any guest who did not give their express permission in any of the photos of video footage.

We visited and documented the Tonle Sab lake, bird sanctuaries, floating villages, temples, and daily life all the way down the river.

We also were able to get some amazing drone photography while on the Cambodia side, especially on the vast Tonle Sab Lake.

I had just picked up my new DJI Mavic 3 for this shoot and was on my first flight capturing the amazing sunset behind the Aqua Mekong when the Captain gave the order to hoist the anchor and start cruising. Little did I know how difficult it is to land a drone on a moving boat.

If it wasn’t for my friend, Christophe of Saigon Videographer, who was shooting the video on the same cruise, catching the drone. I think that it would have been its first and final flight.

Needless to say, from then on we always kept the Captain informed when we were flying.

The Phnom Penh to Ho Chi Minh City section was undertaken on a later date due to some additional refitting that needed to be done to the vessel.

During this hospitality photoshoot we concentrated on taking interior design photos of all categories of suites, the magnificent upper deck lounge, dining room, gym, as well as outdoor dining areas.

A very enjoyable trip with some amazing photos. The only regret was, as usual, we never have time to actually enjoy the experience.
