Luang Prabang Resort Photoshoot Overview
Our second resort photoshoot at the amazing NamKhan Resort located on the banks of the Namkhan River in Luang Prabang, Laos. Just a short 10-minute ride from the new Luang Prabang airport, the Namkhan Resort is an oasis of peace and quiet. A perfect location to wind down and relax, while still being only a short distance from the center of Luang Prabang and outlying sites.
Our first hotel photoshoot of the resort was in December 2023 and encompassed all the room categories and facilities. The owner’s of the Namkhan had undertaking a major refit of many of the room categories and f&b outlets to enable them to reach 5-star status. This was also an opportunity to shoot some of the resort facilities that we were unable to shoot the last time around, such as the cooking class and Mekong boat.
Hotel Photography Overview
We spent another 5 wonderful days on location, comprised of 3 shooting days and 2 weather days, due to the time of year. Fortunately we had these two additional days as the weather was not the most cooperative, and it rained almost consistently.
However, because of our vast experience with hotel and resort photography around the world, we were unfazed by this as we knew how to get the best final hotel photos with whatever we were given. A combination of timing, knowing how to light a scene an. of course, luck helped us capture the resort photos below. Most of which were captured while it was raining.
It was also a great opportunity to experience the wonderful Laos hospitality and food again. Next time, we really need to try out the tubing down the Namkhan River.
